You want to use a hose to carefully clean off the top. Doing this once or twice a month will help it to last longer and keep it looking nice. Make sure that before you do this, you close all windows and doors to the building because you don’t want to get anything inside wet.

Sometimes, the hose doesn’t completely do the trick and you must actually wash your awning. Do not settle for any old cleaning solutions as they could end up causing more harm than good.
